These are all the questions that surrounded the Constitution. There were four basic questions.

Do Slaves Count as People?
Some states with small amount of people but high slave trade asked; How should slaves be counted in the lower house? There was much debate but finally they decided that every enslaved person equaled 3/5 of a free person. That means every five slaves eualed 3 free people!

What rights do the states have? Individuals?
Both the states and the people wondered; what rights do we have?

What about Native Americans?
Many people puzzled; What do we do with the indians? Kill them? Move them? Banish them? They resolved on moveing them around. Many died of fetigue and illness.

How will power be shared?
The federal and state governments wanted to know; How will power be shared between us? The federal Government came up with a Virginia Plan, based on proportional represtntation. It came up with a two house legeslature, a upper house and a lower house. The lower house was elected by the people and the upper house was elected by the lower house. There would be a President and a courts system too. The State came up with a New Jersey plan, based on equal representation. It planned on a weak executiv, or president, and a one house legeslature. Eventually they decided to combine the two plans in the
Great Compromise. It had two houses, the upper:senate and the lower:proportional. The senate was equal, and proportional, well... proportional. The compromise also had an executive(president) and courts.
